I lost my job. I lost my friends. I even lost the version of myself I thought I knew.
And honestly… it hurt.
At first, it felt like life had pulled the rug out from under me. I questioned everything: Who am I if I have nothing? Who am I without the life I built?
But here’s the thing about hitting rock bottom: it forces you to look inward.
When everything I thought defined me disappeared, I finally met the real me. The me who laughs at silly jokes alone in the kitchen. The me who loves long walks with no destination. The me who cares deeply—even when no one notices.
Losing everything didn’t break me. It freed me.
Because I realized something life-changing:
I am not my job. I am not my friends. I am not my achievements.
I am the person I am when everything else is gone.
It’s terrifying, messy, and uncomfortable—but in that chaos, I found clarity. I started choosing what felt true, not what felt expected. I started living, really living.
Today, I’m not perfect. I still face challenges. But I live unapologetically. I live fully. I live as me.
Sometimes, you have to lose everything to find everything that really matters.
